Peter Orner

Orner’s fiction and nonfiction have appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, Granta, The Paris Review, McSweeney’s, The Southern Review, The Forward, San Francisco Chronicle and Ploughshares. Stories have been anthologized in Best American Stories and twice won a Pushcart Prize. Orner was awarded a 2006 Guggenheim Fellowship and the two-year Lannan Foundation Literary Fellowship. Orner received a law degree from Northeastern University and an M.F.A. from University of Iowa. He joined SF State in 2003.

Chanan Tigay

Tigay is an award-winning journalist who has written for Newsweek, Agence France-Presse, United Press International and the Jerusalem Report, among other publications. He was most recently an investigative reporting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Journalism, where he worked on his book Unholy Scriptures: Fraud, Suicide, Scandal—and the Bible that Rocked the Holy City. Tigay earned his M.F.A. in creative writing from Columbia University. He joined SF State this fall.
