Rosa Alcala and Roberto Tejada
Rosa Alcalá
Alcalá is the author of the poetry collection Undocumentaries and two chapbooks, Some Maritime Disasters This Century and Undocumentary. She has also translated poetry by Cecilia Vicuña, Lourdes Vázquez and Lila Zemborain, among others. Recent translations include Zemborain’s Guardians of the Secret and poems for The Oxford Book of Latin America Poetry. Alcalá teaches in the Creative Writing Department and Bilingual M.F.A. Program at University of Texas, El Paso.
Roberto Tejada
An art historian, curator and editor specializing in Latino and Latin American art, Tejada was born in Los Angeles. He is the author of the poetry chapbooks Gift and Verdict and Amulet Anatomy as well as the full-length collections Mirrors for Gold and Exposition Park. He founded and—together with Kristin Dykstra and Gabriel Bernal Granados—continues to co-edit the multilingual journal of poetry and poetics in translation Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas. Tejada is Distinguished Endowed Chair in Art History at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts.
