Thomas Martin, double bass

Thomas Martin is well-known internationally as a double bassist and instrument maker. He studied with Roger Scott in Philadelphia and has held front-desk positions with major orchestras in the U.S. and England. As a soloist he has traveled the globe giving concertos, recitals and master classes. His five-CD Naxos series of the virtuoso music of Giovanni Bottesini has met with great critical acclaim including record of the year from Gramophone and The Sunday Times. Martin is a professor at the Royal College of Music in London and international fellow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. As a conductor, Martin studied with Sian Edwards in London and with Stephen Darlington in Oxford. $10-$15.
