Artist Lecture Series: Jason Jägel

San Francisco-based, award-winning artist Jason Jägel discusses his work and its relationship with text, including his two children's books. Works by Jägel are featured in The Illuminated Library, an exhibition in the Fine Arts Gallery. Free.

A monograph of Jägel’s work, Seventy-Three Funshine, was created with an accompanying 10-inch vinyl record with music by Madlib and published by Electric Works, San Francisco. Jägel has been featured in numerous solo and group shows since 1995 in New York, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Milan, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans and more. His work appears in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, UCLA Hammer Museum and Portland Museum of Art, among others. Jägel received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from California College of Arts and Crafts in 1995 and his Master of Fine Arts from Stanford University in 2002.
