Morrison Artists Series: Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet
Indeed many listeners and critics agree that the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet has succeeded in virtually redefining the sound of the classic wind quintet. Its repertoire covers not only the entire spectrum of the wind quintet literature but also includes works for enlarged ensemble, including the sextets of Janáček and Reinecke, and the septets of Hindemith and Koechlin.
Manchester Evening News writes: “Arguably the best ensemble of its kind in the world.” The Washington Post writes: “It is rare to hear man perfectly integrated with music—when the two are so inextricably linked, so aware yet selfless, that distinctions between them are rendered meaningless.
