Playing country superstar Barbara Jean in the 1975 Robert Altman film, Blakley performs her own songs in character. Blakley was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was also nominated for a Grammy, two Golden Globes and British Academy Awards, and won the National Board of Review award for Best Supporting Actress. Blakley was featured on the covers of Newsweek, American Cinematographer and Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine.
