Veteran Documentary Corps premiere

The Documentary Film Institute premieres six new short films, sharing military veterans' stories of courage and resilience. Stories range from World War II on the European front to a soldier dealing with traumatic brain injury. A panel discussion with filmmakers and veterans follows the screening. Reception: 6pm. Free.

The Documentary Film Institute’s Veteran Documentary Corps project empowers and filmmakers from around the world to tell true stories about the veteran experience to other veterans and global citizens alike. Its goal is to facilitate greater understanding of the diverse personalities, struggles and successes that define the veteran experience, through the art of documentary filmmaking. The project’s stories come from all branches of service, military jobs, campaigns and nations. Filmmakers are all seasoned professionals and artists. The institute aims to have completed 100 shorts by 2016. The films have been distributed through partnerships with Hulu’s All Warrior Network, The Pentagon Channel and educational distributor Kanopy.
