This comic play with songs by John Gay portrays rival pirates, Native Americans and British settlers in the West Indies. Banned in 1728, this rarely seen musical theatre piece features Polly Peachum and her roguish husband, Captain Macheath, later famous for their adventures in Brecht's Threepenny Opera. Performed by an acting ensemble directed by Joel Schechter. April 15 (preview), 8pm, Free. April 16 - 17, 8pm, $5. April 18, 2pm, $5.
