Lecturer Zachariah Spellman and pianist Karen Hutchinson will perform Songs by Gerald Finzi. Then violinist Natalia Vershilova and Hutchinson -- on accordion -- will help Spellman create a trio for some fun popular music, and ballerina Rita Agnese will interpret Spellman's didgeridoo playing in her original choreography. Free.

Spellman has been principal tubist for the San Francisco Opera Orchestra since 1977 and for the Marin Symphony since 1980. He has taught at SF State since 1982. He is also a member of the Golden Gate Brass and the Aurio Trio. Spellman has been a featured soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, Fremont Symphony, Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, Peninsula Symphony, Bay Bones and Youth Philharmonic of Portland, Ore. Spellman has also performed with the San Francisco Ballet, Manhattan Philharmonic and the San Francisco, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Silicon Valley, Oakland East Bay, California, Oregon and Houston symphonies. He has been a sideman for Mel Torme, George Shearing and Ray Charles.
