Thursday, November 5, 2015, 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm

ProPublica journalist Nina Martin will bring attention to the burgeoning number of cases in which women are prosecuted for allegedly endangering their unborn children, pitting the rights of the mother against what lawmakers, prosecutors, judges and jurors view as the rights of the unborn child. She will also examine the criminal justice system's often disproportionate treatment of poor people of color, the backlash against Roe v. Wade and the push to establish "personhood" for fetuses.
