Eleff is the author of a number of books and more than 30 scholarly articles. He will publish two books in 2016: Pulpits, Power and Pew: Religious Authority and the Formation of American Judaism, 1816 – 1885 (Oxford University Press) and Modern Orthodox Judaism in America: A Documentary History (The Jewish Publication Society of America).
