Tigay has contributed to publications including Newsweek, New York magazine, the Wall Street Journal and the San Francisco Chronicle. He has covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a correspondent for the Jerusalem bureau of Agence France-Presse. Tigay joined SF State’s Creative Writing faculty in 2012.

The Creative Writing Department opens its Writers on Writing course to the public on Mondays this semester. Taught by Robert Glück, the course features faculty and visiting writers reading from their works and discussing their creative process.
