Students, alumni, colleagues and friends celebrate the life of esteemed Theatre Arts Professor Mohammad Kowsar. A dynamic force whose passion for theatre and teaching were infectious, he inspired generations of students and young theatre artists as well as colleagues and peers. He passed away January 14. Riding his scooter around campus wearing his iconic hat, Mohammad was known for his intense, energetic lectures that echoed down the hallways. He was a tireless director illuminating the works of Frederick Schiller, Jean Genet, Anton Chekhov, August Strindberg, Aphra Behn, Alfred de Musset and John Ford. Kowsar had taught at SF State since 1988. Reception to follow memorial. Free.
