Is this your year to turn your love for language teaching into a career in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)? Learn more at an open house hosted by SF State's graduate TESOL program. Founded in 1964, the program is one of the longest running of its kind. Graduates have gone on to become language teachers, teacher trainers, program directors and faculty in adult education, community based organizations, colleges and universities. Free.

Schedule

  • 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Welcome reception with students and faculty
  • 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.: Lecture on fluency development by Professor Doreen Ewert, director, Academic English for Multilingual Students program, University of San Francisco
  • 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Learn about admission requirements and process. Pre-admission advising.
  • 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Explore the campus.
  • 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Sit in on a graduate TESOL class.
