José Jorge Mendoza, assistant professor of Philosophy at University of Massachusetts, Lowell, presents his paper providing a general overview on the philosophical literature concerning discrimination and immigration from the perspective of political philosophy and philosophy of race. It argues that putting these two distinct literatures into conversation would provide an underappreciated argument for limiting the discretion states are normally thought to enjoy with respect to immigration control. Light refreshments will be served. Free.
