Informed by the analyses produced by activists, Vitale’s book demonstrates how law enforcement exacerbates the social problems it is deployed to address and how public funds can be reinvested into life-affirming institutions that improve public health, safety and well-being.

The Audit Ahern campaign and No New San Francisco Jail Coalition representatives will discuss local campaigns to decarcerate and depolice communities by improving public transparency and accountability over the Alameda County sheriff and shutting down the seismically unsafe San Francisco County Jail 4.
