Interviewing is pervasive in our society. When tuning into news, podcasts and radio, interviews help us make sense of our own life and our collective lives. But what makes up an interview? What are the basic techniques for conducting an interview for research? This workshop will provide some background to “the interview” as a basic form of data used in behavioral, social science and humanistic research while providing basic techniques for preparing for and conducting a semi-structured interview. Presented by Christopher Koenig, assistant professor of Communication Studies. Free.
