José Alfaro gives a lecture as part of Studies in English: Here and Now, a series of talks by Bay Area academics. Free.

José Alfaro

José Alfaro’s research is centered on the emergence of “queer latinidades” in American literary history, as they exceed, open and disrupt the “Latino” arrival often choreographed around 19th-century American literatures and their respective border formations.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in English from SF State in 2014 and is a doctoral candidate at University of California, Riverside. Alfaro teaches at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.
