Although summertime brings much fog to campus, the outlook is sunny this summer for students—and anybody else—hoping to study at SF State. The University’s summer session offers more than 200 course sections in the College of Liberal and Creative Arts. General registration is now open.

Twenty-six programs in the college are offering courses this summer, enabling current and future students to move ahead with their studies. The Cinema Department alone offers 38 courses, the most in the college by far. Several of the classes are offered online, offering additional convenience for students.

Summer session classes are paid through SF State’s College of Extended Learning. Limited financial aid is available.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

In addition to the main summer session, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) offers nine courses this summer, beginning June 8.

Two classes focus on the America’s Cup regatta, taking place in San Francisco this summer. Other courses include digital photography, art films of the 1950s and 1960s and a writers workshop.

OLLI, which is housed in the college, is a learning community that inspires people age 50 and up to take a fresh look at themselves, the future, their generation and the world of possibilities. Its stimulating and provocative courses, forums and interest groups challenge, inform and animate creative expression. Learn more about OLLI and the summer courses at two open-house events: June 6 on the main campus and June 11 on the Downtown Campus.

Enrollment for both OLLI and summer session is open to the general public. Admission to the University is not needed.
