Alex Borstein was just nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her voice roles on the Family Guy episode titled “Lois Comes Out of Her Shell,” which is a bit ironic because the alumna has never been known for being shy.

Borstein (B.A., Communication Studies, ’92) is nominated in the Best Voice-Over Performance category, alongside Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and comedian Lily Tomlin on HBO’s An Apology To Elephants.

In addition to her performance on the long-running animated sitcom, Borstein has entertained millions as confused manicurist Mrs. Swan on MadTV, through her writing and producing on Showtime’s gripping comedy-drama Shameless and her raunchy stand-up comedy. Her Twitter account is quite lewd, too.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held September 22 and will air on CBS.
