Speech and Debate Team takes sweepstakes at Northern California championship

SF State’s Speech and Debate Team outperformed everyone at the Northern California Forensics Association’s regional championship tournament, winning the first-place sweepstakes award, which recognizes the team that accrues the most awards across all divisions and events at the tournament. Robin Ponder, a senior in Sociology, performed so well in debate and individual events that she was named the second-place Overall Speaker at the tournament, held February 7–9 at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.
