POMERADO NEWS -- For LoPiccolo, taking over is an exciting new opportunity in his new town. He and his wife recently relocated to San Diego from Idaho, in order to be closer to their new grandchild.

“My daughter had a baby, and my wife said, I don’t want to be a long-distance grandmother, and moved here,” LoPiccolo said. “Before I knew it, our house had been sold. It was a wonderful decision, a no-brainer.”

LoPiccolo grew up in New York City, where he attended the High School of Music and Art and fell in love with conducting.

“I got started conducting very young,” said LoPiccolo. “It was an incredible experience.”

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from San Francisco State University, and a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting from Eastern Washington University. “I got the conducting bug at San Francisco (State University),” LoPiccolo said. “When the opportunity to earn my Master’s in conducting came up at Spokane, it was too much to pass up.”
