SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER -- After San Francisco State University alumnus Jeffrey Tambor, 70, won a Golden Globe for his role as a transgender woman on Amazon’s comedy “Transparent,” The New York Times raised hackles by calling the character a “transgender man,” which refers to a person who is transitioning to a male gender. The paper issued a correction.
