ALICE RADIO 97.3 FM -- Peter Richardson teaches Humanities and American Studies at San Francisco State University. His new book is “No Simple Highway: A Cultural History of The Grateful Dead.” ”The four surviving original members of the Dead announced three final shows this July at Chicago’s Soldier Field to mark the 50th anniversary of the band. “In many ways this is a story not only about the Bay Area, but an alternative american voice in the second half of the 20th century,” Richardson says.
