Cinema Student Andrew Wong to Study in China

MODESTO BEE -- Enochs High School graduate Andrew Wong is headed to China this summer for a documentary film program. Last year, the Modesto native had a short film accepted as part of the Cannes International Film Festival’s lineup of student-made projects. His film, “Speeding Ticket,” was among 26 student offerings screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner last May. Wong, a 2012 Enochs grad and current San Francisco State University student, will go to southwest China for a month this summer. He will be among 12 San Francisco State and 12 Guiyang Normal University students taking part in the program. His group will work with two other San Francisco State students and three Chinese students to complete a documentary. While there, they will film, edit and finish the film.
