Ceramic Works by Alum Tiffany Schmierer on Display in Oakland

OAKLAND LOCAL -- Tiffany Schmierer grew up in Pennsylvania. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in three-dimensional arts at University of Oklahoma. She then moved to the West Coast where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from San Francisco State University in 2004. She is an associate professor of art at Skyline College in San Bruno, where she heads the ceramics program. Schmierer has exhibited in national and regional shows and has received multiple recognitions for her artwork including the Alpha Award for Best in Show at the California Clay Competition, First Place at America’s Clay Fest and the Niche Award for Professional Ceramic Sculpture. Her work is in public and private collections.
