On May 22, SF State’s class of 2015 will celebrate graduation at the home of the World Series champions: AT&T Park. About 8,000 people are graduating this year, and about 30,000 people are expected to attend. Fireworks will light the sky at the end of the ceremony.
California’s lieutenant governor, Gavin Newsom, will deliver the keynote speech. Honorary degrees will go to actress Annette Bening (B.A., Drama, ’80), poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and lawyer and educator Peter Gabel.
Eduardo Gonzalez, a double major in Political Science and International Relations, will speak on behalf of all baccalaureates. Gonzalez is also the College of Liberal & Creative Arts’ undergraduate hood recipient, selected for the honor to represent all grads in the College at Commencement by wearing the academic hood. Lindsey Sivaslian, a Master of Arts recipient in English, is the College’s graduate-level hood recipient.
The ballpark will open to guests at 3pm, the procession of students will begin at 5:30pm and the ceremony will start at 6:30pm.
