Monday, July 06, 2015
SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS -- Bay Wolf has been serving inventive seasonal dishes out of a Craftsman bungalow on Piedmont Avenue since 1975. It was the white-linen, so-called “California cuisine” restaurant customers went to when they wanted to celebrate or impress. And, despite the plethora of choices now available for foodies in the East Bay, the closing of Bay Wolf will leave a gaping hole on the culinary map. Before he opened Bay Wolf, Wild was an English teacher at San Francisco State. The leap into restaurants came because, he says, “I wanted my sons to see their father work for a living.
