DAILY DEMOCRAT (WOODLAND) -- Sines has been painting since his student days at San Francisco State College in the early 1960s, when he began showing his trompe l’oeil still life paintings at Shreve and Company in San Francisco. He now shows his work at the New Masters Gallery in Carmel and the Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay as well as the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park. He and his wife live in San Mateo, where they “try not to spoil” their five grandchildren. Sines is retired from careers in advertising, commercial art and the decorative arts. He has been teaching painting and drawing at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto for about 10 years.
