SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- Temprano said he has been more focused on fending off the commission’s attempt to revoke accreditation than on the problems that got the college in trouble. “This is an institution that impacts hundreds of thousands of people,” he said. As president of the Harvey Milk Club, he said he applied pressure to elected officials and asked, “How do we stop this attack? Who do we need to put pressure on to stop this?” Temprano, 29, was ill as a teenager and unable to attend school during the day. He said he is grateful that he could take off-hour classes at Ventura Community College. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a political science degree.
