Poetry Clips of the Week: Tonya M. Foster and David Buuck

Tonya M. Foster introduces her book of poetry, A Swarm of Bees in High Court (Belladonna, 2015), as an attempt “to create a portrait of a particular location and to understand the way that places speak the language of grief,” before reading “Harlem Nocturn/e/s,” the opening poem to the book, at The Poetry Center, San Francisco State University, October 22, 2015. The full program includes readings by Foster and David Buuck, followed by the two poets conversing and responding to questions from the audience.

 

 

David Buuck sings his pirate song, “Dead Men Don’t Bite,” from his work “Buried Treasure Island: a detour of the future,” featured in Site Cite City (Futurepoem, 2015), at The Poetry Center, San Francisco State University, October 22, 2015. The full program includes a series of projected images narrated by Buuck, as part of his reading, along with the reading by Tonya M. Foster, followed by the two poets conversing and responding to questions from the audience.
