TERRAPIN ATHLETICS (UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND) -- University of Maryland Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson is set to be inducted into the San Francisco State Alumni Hall of Fame Friday, Nov. 6. A 1979 graduate of San Francisco State, Anderson will be inducted along with Sherry M. Hirota and Daniel Sullivan. Additionally, Major General Barbara Lavis Brannon and Honorable Mu Sochua will be honored as Alumnae of the Year. Under Anderson’s leadership, the Maryland athletics department successfully transferred into the Big Ten Conference and also pioneered “The Maryland Way Guarantee,” becoming one of the first Division I institutions to offer a lifetime degree guarantee for student-athletes in all sports.
