The Division of Graduate Studies presents two opportunities every spring for students to present their research and creative work to broader academic audiences, on and off campus.

CSU Student Research Competition

The CSU Student Research Competition provides an opportunity for both graduate and undergraduate students to present their outstanding research projects and creative works in a formal academic competition. Students who are currently enrolled, as well as those who graduated in the spring, summer or fall semesters of 2015, are eligible. Enter by February 5.

The SF State level of the competition, scheduled for February 22 – 26, is an excellent way to gain experience presenting research at conferences and symposiums and would look great on your résumé or curriculum vitae. The University sends up to 10 campus winners to compete in the CSU-wide competition. The 30th annual California State University Student Research Competition takes place April 29 – 30 at California State University, Bakersfield.

Graduate Research and Creative Works Showcase

The Graduate Research and Creative Works Showcase, scheduled for April 21, is an annual exhibition of the diverse work of SF State’s innovative and talented graduate students. Student presentations are typically in the form of a poster display that depicts the purpose, design, methods and results of their research or creative project. Participants and their faculty mentors are invited to attend a dinner reception following the showcase, where registered students are eligible to win prizes like an iPad, camera, or gift certificates. Enter by April 1.
