Professors Kaplan, Astren Discuss Extremism at Symposium

J WEEKLY -- Lehrhaus Judaica presents the symposium “Jewish Life in an Era of Extremism,” which will explore the intersection of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism in the modern world. Speakers include Joby Warrick, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS,” Jewish Community Relations Council Associate Director Abby Porth and journalist Gunda Trepp, who will discuss Germany’s extremism crisis. Also on hand, San Francisco State University Jewish studies Professor Eran Kaplan, who will discuss Jewish extremism in Israel, and historian-author Fred Rosenbaum, who will explore the ongoing anti-Jewish violence in France. Facilitators are Rabbi Peretz Wolf-Prusan, Rachel Eryn Kalish and SFSU Jewish studies Professor Fred Astren.
