TIMES OF INDIA AND NYOOOZ -- Today, at 78, Pearson has attended most film festivals across the world. At Biffes, where the American film critic has been a regular delegate for four editions now, Pearson was declared the Best Film Enthusiast at one of the volunteer activities this year. “I am happy to receive this honour from Girish Kasaravalli, whose movies I appreciate a lot. I have also made a few documentaries,” he added. Pearson developed an interest for Indian cinema while studying theatre in San Francisco State University. He visited India for the first time in 1974 and has been watching and commenting on movies here since. During that period, he not just travelled across India, but also visited Pakistan, and Afghanistan. For Pearson, Bengaluru is like a second home. What draws him here is the space the city provides for movie screenings and the variety of language films on offer.
