SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- The strike, set for April 13 – 15 and April 18 – 19, would be the first systemwide work stoppage in CSU history. It would impact almost 400,000 undergraduates and more than 55,000 graduate students across 23 campuses. “Faculty are finding it very difficult to exist, especially in San Francisco,” said Priyanvada Abeywickrama, an associate professor of English at San Francisco State University. “Most of us have Ph.D.s, and we can’t afford to live in this city anymore.”
