PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE -- José Carlos Diaz, curator of exhibitions at The Bass Museum of Art in Miami, is the new Milton Fine Curator of Art for The Andy Warhol Museum. Diaz will assume his duties at the North Side museum on May 16.
Opened in 1994, with a $4.9 million annual budget, the Andy Warhol Museum holds the largest collection of a single artist, including Warhol’s drawings, silkscreens, sculptures, film, video, time capsules and archives.
Before joining The Bass Museum, Mr. Diaz worked at Tate Liverpool in England, where he curated "Tate Liverpool is 25," an anniversary exhibition. He served as project coordinator for the 2010 Liverpool Biennial. He holds a Master of Arts in cultural history from University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Arts in art history from San Francisco State University.
