TIMES OF SAN DIEGO -- A site-specific, multi-sensory installation at the SDSU Downtown Gallery combines photography with video and original music to explore the art of large architectural spaces and natural caves. “Cathedrals: Jeff Ray” opens Thursday, April 7, and runs through June 12. Ray, a multi-disciplinary artist from the San Francisco Bay Area, collaborated with San Diego State University students on the installation and soundtracks. “This is possibly my favorite way to show and create my work” said Ray, who is also a musician, curator and university lecturer. “It reminds me of when I got my M.F.A. at San Francisco State and how collaboration, cross-disciplinary exploration, and practice was so crucial in defining my process.”
