SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- SF Sketchfest returns in January for its 16th year, with another eclectic lineup of comedians and comic personalities including Thomas Middleditch, Mike Judge, Jeff Goldblum, Jon Hamm, actor/sleight-of-hand artist Ricky Jay and filmmakers appearing for tributes to “What’s Up, Doc?,” “Kentucky Fried Movie” and “Hollywood Shuffle.” Sketchfest was started in 2002 by San Francisco State theatre majors David Owen, Cole Stratton and Janet Varney as a way to showcase sketch groups in the city. It grew into a huge comedy festival, with previous guests including Conan O’Brien, Neil Patrick Harris and Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
