SALINAS CALIFORNIAN -- “LeBron: The Musical,” posted on YouTube, is the brainchild of Salinas native Weston Green (executive producer) and his best friend and collaborator, George Wasgatt (director), an idea they’d tossed back and forth for years. They’re joined by another compadre, Danny Tieger, who created the show-stopping lyrics. And now, they’ve truly dunked it. Weston attended San Francisco State University, one of the top film schools in the country. But his education was just beginning. Out in the real world, armed with a B.A. in Cinema and Marketing, Weston quickly began to make his mark, his place in the industry. One of his first jobs was working as an intern at “Funny or Die,” actor Will Ferrell’s start-up Internet firm. That opportunity took him on to work for actress Natalie Portman’s start-up, a position that focused on an online film school, which took Green around the U.S.
