BROADWAY WORLD (SAN FRANCISCO) -- San Francisco Playhouse continues its 2016 – 2017 Sandbox Series for new works with the World Premiere of “You Mean to Do Me Harm,” written by acclaimed playwright and winner of the 2017 Lanford Wilson Award, Christopher Chen. Bill English directs this new play, originally commissioned by San Francisco Playhouse. Performances will be held at The Rueff at American Conservatory Theater’s Strand Theater. Chen’s plays examine the hidden patterns beneath complex systems: sociopolitical systems, psychological systems, systems of power. He combines naturalism with the absurd within maximalist kaleidoscopic structures. A Bay Area native, Chen is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting from SF State.
