FAIRFIELD DAILY REPUBLIC -- Fairfield High School senior Jomar Lopes posed for pictures with his family after claiming the Ella C. Owens Jennings Memorial Scholarship. The oldest of three children, Lopes hopes to serve as a mentor to his younger brother and sister. “I want them to go to college, succeed and pursue their dreams,” he said, as they stood nearby. His paternal grandmother was also there for the proud moment.
