REDLANDS DAILY FACTS -- Koss’ first exposure to sewing was at a young age, thanks to his mother. He did not discover costume design, however, until he left high school for San Francisco State University.

“When I arrived at [Redlands High School] I was active in the school’s theatre department as an actor because that’s what I knew existed,” he said. “As an undergrad, the original idea was to be an actor, but after my first semester I switched to costume design. I discovered it was another way of expressing yourself and expressing your take on a story through clothing.”

Koss earned his undergraduate degree in theatre design at San Francisco State before moving on to design costumes for dance and theatre productions in San Francisco. He later moved to New York to attend the New York University Tisch School of Arts and has collaborated with several well-known artists such as Glenn Casale, John MacInnis, Hall Brooks and Azure Barton, according to his biography.

In addition to his work with Marvel Universe Live, Koss also worked on Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey’s “Circus Xtreme” production.
