EAST BAY TIMES -- Rose, 21, attends San Francisco State University, and is studying broadcast and communication arts with an emphasis on the business aspect of electronic media. A country music lover who has been singing since she was 3, Rose sent an audition tape to The Voice with the help of her voice coach Libby Lavella. She was chosen by Miley Cyrus for her team in the blind audition with her cover of Ode to Billie Joe by Bobbie Gentry, sang Good Hearted Woman in the battle round against Ashland Craft and then Carrie Underwood’s Smoke Break in the knockout round.

“The experience (being on The Voice) was definitely very surreal,” said Rose. “Everything goes so quickly.”

The singer said she was “euphoric” being chosen for Miley Cyrus’ team. Being able “to perform in front of successful and incredible artists (such as Cyrus, Adam Levine, Blake Sheldon and Jennifer Hudson) is nothing I ever expected,” she said. “Performing makes me happy.”
