Professor Tuman: Governor's Election Results Indicate Momentum for GOP in California

KGO-CHANNEL 7 (SAN FRANCISCO) -- San Francisco State University Professor Joe Tuman sat down with ABC7 to talk about what the future may hold for the Golden State.

Does Republican candidate John Cox have a chance to defeat Democratic Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom?

“It will be difficult for Cox to win, but the fact that he made the No. 2 position means that Republicans are starting to wake up and, perhaps, if they register more voters, they might have more impact,” Tuman says. “I think their impact probably will be felt in the Assembly and Senate, not so much in the governor’s office.”
