SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- This public safety campaign could be a smart strategy, one political observer said, because it taps into a timely discourse on sexual assault, and will likely appeal to young women — an important demographic in San Francisco.

Gascón “might even be ahead of the curve,” said Jason McDaniel, an associate professor of Political Science at San Francisco State University. He noted that public safety messaging is important not only for the district attorney, but also for Uber, which has weathered criticism for the behavior of its past CEO.
