KNTV-CHANNEL 11/NBC BAY AREA -- The San Francisco Chronicle reports the bulk of the donation from real estate mogul George Marcus and his wife, Judy Marcus, $25 million, will support the liberal arts. The remaining $1.8 million will establish an athletics scholarship fund.
SFSU President Leslie Wong says the money will establish the George and Judy Marcus Funds for Excellence in the Liberal Arts. The university will also use the gift for improvements in the department of Creative Writing and the School of Cinema.
