Professor McDaniel: Are SF's New Supervisors Getting Ahead of Themselves?

Tuesday, July 23, 2019

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- Newer supervisors — such as Haney and Mar — may have tried to rush attention-grabbing measures onto the ballot to make a splash shortly after coming into office, said Jason McDaniel, a Political Science professor at San Francisco State University. Mar still has a measure left on the November ballot, which would amend the city’s campaign finance laws.

“They are trying to be more assertive, and not just let the mayor set the agenda,” McDaniel said. But “maybe they got a little ahead of themselves in terms of the details and policies.”
