Alum Harjant Gill's Films Reflect on Manhood, Sexuality in India

DECCAN HERALD (BANGALORE, INDIA) -- His family moved from Chandigarh to California when he was 14 years old. Gill went on to study visual anthropology at San Francisco State University before pursuing his Ph.D. in anthropology at American University in Washington, D.C., where he now resides.

“I came out to my parents when I was 16,” says Gill. “They are very accepting now, but it took a long time for them to come to terms with my sexual identity.”
