Alum Lwepaw Kacher Helps Keep Karen Community of Minnesota Safe from COVID-19

PIONEER PRESS (ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA) -- In 1996, Kacher enrolled at Indiana University in Bloomington to study English. She later moved to San Francisco, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from San Francisco State University. She stayed in the San Francisco area for 20 years before moving to Minnesota in August 2017 to work with the Karen community. She started working for HealthEast, placed at the Karen Organization of Minnesota in Roseville, as a Karen cultural broker a few months later.
